WALK AND TALK COUNSELING -
IN PERSON / $130 - 50 min

At Into the Wild Counseling, I provide what I call 'Walk and Talks', which are psychotherapy sessions held in nature. These sessions take place outdoors instead of being confined to an office space or over video calls. In my experience, combining traditional talk therapy with nature and movement help clients relax and empower them to feel more open and curious. They're able to not only connect with the outside world, but find it easier to find new perspectives and express feelings which may be more difficult in a traditional therapy space where direct eye contact is the only option.

In Walk and Talk sessions, my clients can expect a combination of traditional psychotherapy as well as elements borrowed from the Japanese tradition of Shinrin-Yuko, also known as 'forest bathing', or 'absorbing the forest atmosphere'. This practice encourages individuals to live in the moment by immersing themselves in nature using their five senses — no actual bathing required! One of the many benefits to living in our wonderful state of Colorado is that I'm able to offer Walk and Talk sessions year-round. You can find me walking rain or shine, January or August.

As with any traditional therapy session, I work alongside my clients to increase their self-awareness around areas in their life where they feel like they're struggling. Together we establish personal goals for therapy as well as determine outdoor settings where they feel comfortable. Outdoor, nature-based sessions can take place sitting in a quiet outdoor place or on a walking or hiking a trail. Walk and Talks offer my clients the opportunity to reconnect with their sense of self while nurturing their relationship with the great outdoors.
